Opening Tocal the first time

Four steps. Once.

Tocal isn’t notarized by Apple yet, so the first time you open it, macOS asks you to confirm. It takes a few seconds, and you only do it once: updates install without asking.

01

Drag it to Applications

Open the downloaded Tocal disk image and drag Tocal onto the Applications folder.

Prefer Terminal? One command does the same.

After dragging Tocal to Applications, run this, then open Tocal as usual:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Tocal.app

Then unlock it with your key.

Click Tocal in the menu bar, paste the license key from your purchase email, and click Activate. It works on one Mac at a time.
