Tocal is built so that what you write and copy stays on your Mac. This page explains the little that does leave it, and what this website keeps when you buy.

In the app

  • Your todos, clipboard history and Focus Sessions are stored only on your Mac, in Tocal’s sandboxed folder. They are never uploaded, synced or shared.
  • Tocal has no analytics, telemetry or crash reporting, and no account.
  • Tocal connects to the internet for two things only. Activating your license sends your license key, an anonymous ID derived from your Mac’s hardware (a one-way hash, not the hardware ID itself) and your Mac’s name, so you can see which Macs use your key. Tocal repeats this check at most once a week. Checking for updates downloads a list of versions from this website.
  • Items that password managers mark as private are never saved to your clipboard history.

When you buy

  • Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record. Your payment details go to them, never to us.
  • We keep your name, email address, order details, license key and the Macs it’s activated on, to deliver and support your license.
  • We email you your license key, and again only if you ask for it. No newsletters, no marketing.

On this website

  • We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you: it records pages viewed, where visitors came from, and their country, browser and device type, in aggregate.

Your choices

Want your purchase details deleted, or a copy of them? Email suhail@shipx.live. Deleting them also deactivates your license.
